Please explain, why salts for wood protection are not suitable for most painting and varnishing works.
Wood protection salts do not repel water, and many of their species even have a hygroscopic effect (attracts water). Therefore, wood protection salts are not suitable for wooden components, which should keep exact dimensions. Because these wood preservatives are generally not easily painted over, painters and varnishers hardly use them.

What is the protection of wood by impregnating transparent coatings??
Such coatings prevent the access and development of insects and fungi in the wood. If impregnating clearcoats are approved for use as wood preservatives, this can be recognized by the certification mark and the symbol for properties: IV i P.

Why it is no longer allowed to use tar oil agents to protect wood?
The use of tar oils in wood preservatives was prohibited for health reasons. Painters, too, had hardly used tar oils before, because it was impossible to paint over them without leaving stains, and there were very unpleasant odors.
