What requirements must security tapes meet??
Security tapes have to meet many requirements:
1) they must be stretchable and also suitable for wrapping curved surfaces;
2) they must have good adhesion to various substrates;
3) they must adhere precisely at the edges and must not allow coating materials to leak into the protected area;
4) tape or glue, with which it is covered, cannot be dissolved by water, solvents and coating materials;
5) must be resistant to high temperatures;
6) must be easily removable in its entirety.
What are the types of security tapes?
Among the security tapes, the following types are distinguished:
1) tapes made of smooth or creped special paper, which can also be impregnated;
2) plastic foil tapes (made of polyvinyl chloride or polyester);
3) textile tapes made of cotton or artificial fiber.
Security tapes of various thicknesses and widths and coated with various adhesives are available for sale.
Up to what temperature can heat-resistant security tapes be used?
The high temperature resistance of these tapes achieves 353 K (80°C). Security tapes withstand this temperature for a maximum of one hour.
